BREAK-IN's: (Updated 11/1/09) There has been several break-in's in the area. PLEASE KEEPYOUR EYES & EARS OPEN...these break-ins have been at all different times. If you see anything call the Kittitas County Sheriff or 911.
Please be alert to unusual situations that might suggest a break-in is in progress, and please check your own property to make sure it is secure. Additional incidents will be reported here.
PROPERTY SECURITY ALERT (Updated 8/30/2006) There have been breakins at several homes/cabins at Kachess Ridge within the past weeks. Most recently, a break-in attempt at the Talerico cabin on Kachess Lake Road was foiled, but a break-in did occur in a trailer on the property. Earlier this summer, the Hunsaker's cabin on Via Kachess was broken into and everything was taken. The Sheriff's office is investigating, but it has warned that break-ins are occurring in the daytime in a variety of locations.
WILDLIFE ALERT (5/21/2006): Guests at the Donovan's home on Via Kachess Saturday around midnight saw what they believe to be the tail end of a cougar disappearing in the woods near the Donovan's home. The Donovan's cat was missing for two days and came back injured. Although wildlife sightings are not unusual in the Lake Kachess area, residents are urged to remain vigilant and aware for their own safety and the safety of children and pets.
WILDLIFE ALERT (5/18/2006): Many residents have reported seeing a small black bear at the side of the Kachess Lake Road approximately 2 miles north of I-90.
SECURITY NOTICE (4/03/2006): A Kachess Ridge resident's truck was stolen Saturday night, April 1, from the Kachess Lake Road. There have been other incidents of theft at Snoqualmie Pass in recent weeks. Please take special care with your own property and report any suspicious activity to the Kittitas County Sheriff.
